    3. Cara: His name was Thomas Bartlett Halpin, and he was a grocer and spirits dealer on Townsend St., confirmed by the city directory of Dublin in the 1830s. I believe he left a will and there may be a marker. My reason for wanting to know the cemetery is to find whether his wife is buried with him. I've heard over the years from 2 other individuals researching male Halpin ancestors in Dublin and a common link is all three wives are French/Irish. thanks, Charles Cara_Links <cracker@hotkey.net.au> wrote: Does this Relative have a surname I cannot say what graveyard, but have you considered he may or may not have a headstone? 3. You need to go to the family history centre and order the index you need. This will then give you the reference for the register and if there is a P next to the grave number in the register this will lead you to the Perpetuities. Regards from Valerie in sunny Sydney. 3. Hi Cara, No, not Rose and Murray. The company is listed as plumbers in the directories and the earliest listing is Ross, Murray and McDougal. Don't have dates here at work, they exhibited in the 1841? Dublin Exhibition and also did reproductions of remaining celtic monuments. My ancestor, Peter Murray's occupation was wire worker and I am looking for a family link. My interest is fueled by a story told to us by a great uncle who returned to Ireland while serving with the Canadian forces during WWI. He met with the Murray family but was quickly asked to leave when his full identiy was known. The 'family business' was still thriving at that time according to his story. This is the second last family lore to be explored. So far others have had some truth to them. Thanks for the question. I found the films in FamilySearch. (By the way, they are under Ireland, Dublin, Dublin, rather than Ireland, Dublin!) There are about 30 films covering about 120 years. Some earlier films overlap. I have recently spent a fortune and strained eyes on FHL films so I may try Shirley's suggestion first. 1. [IRL-DUBLIN] Place: OAKLA d to the Original Wills of the Diocese of Dublin; p. 207
    2. Valeris Garton
    3. Can anyone shed some light as to where this place might have been in 1777 ? "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"

    1. Re: [IRL-DUBLIN] HALPIN NAME
    2. The Websters
    3. Hello again Cara. No, the Halpins that I believe to be in Mt Jerome cemetery would have been buried around 1860, and before, and come from Dublin (and possibly Co Carlow). Don't know of a Mathew or Robert Halpin of Drogheda or Kingstown. As posted recently, from Shaw's 1850 Dublin Directory, George Halpin was a civil engineer living at 33 Lower Dorset Street and (presumably) his father, George Halpin Senior, resided at Lighthouse, North Wall. Best wishes and thanks for your help, Bill. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cara_Links" <cracker@hotkey.net.au> To: <irl-dublin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2007 3:19 PM Subject: [IRL-DUBLIN] HALPIN NAME | Is very linked to Co Wicklow particularly Bray area have you looked there | yet? | Also you do not say who his mother was or his father so assume you may know | | But these two George Halpins appeared when I did a search | | George of Mathew Halpen and Mary Ann Lyones born 10/2/1869 Drogheda Louth | Ire | and | George Halpin of Robert Halpin and Mary Kelly born 16 11 1871 at KIngstown | he also had a sister Mary Anne born same place 10/12/1869 | Dublin | if not yours simply delete | | Cara | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "The Websters" <wbwebster@optusnet.com.au> | To: <irl-dublin@rootsweb.com> | Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2007 3:32 PM | Subject: [IRL-DUBLIN] Mt Jerome Cemetery Index | | | > What years does this index cover, please?
