Baptism of Thomas HUGES was 14 May 1815 St. Michan. His parents were Johannis HUGES and Judith MCGUIRE. The sponsor was Margarita MURRAY. In 1841, the year he went in the military, Thomas was found in the Scotland Census living in the household of Elizabeth BLACKLEY. He was 24, she was 34. I'm m wondering if either of these women might be sisters. Still searching for more information. Thanks, Sue
Hi Anne If you delete a list mail or mislay one you can always look in the archives Go to http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ Enter the list name in the lower box Select the list and scroll down to browse or search The archives for this list are here http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/IRL/IRL-DUBLIN.html Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > > Was trying to enter the Bricklayers and Stonemasons at Dublin > University 1840 to 188? > and somehow deleted whole email! > Sorry. > > Anne.

Cara: >>Records of Bricklayers and Stonemasons Guild from 1830 NA Acc. 1097<< Cara, Is there any history of the Guild for 1844 to 1885? Michael J. FITZGERALD was born either August 1834 or 1844. His father before him was Michael J. Fitzgerald. My other question: It is said in the family that Michael J., the son, went to Dublin University. Are there any alumni records anyplace? Thanks! Joan
It appears that many missed the list so yes we may go for a roll call or something just to get us all back on track again. Cheers] Cara
In the recent days, many people would have been unsubbed from the Roootsweb lists that they were subbed to ( nothing to do with the lister inhouse problem at Rootsweb) So if you know of anyone not appearing on the list, and you have contact with them, would you be kind enough to tell them that if they are not receiving lists mails, they have been unsubbed and would not know of it as no bounce mails were sent to the lister. I have re-subbed as many as I was able to catch, but my problem is I do not know if you desired L mode or Digest mode, so in the future this will have to be addressed for you, Simply let me know in an email off list if your mail is not set how you desire it. I thank all of you for your patience in the last few weeks, and look forward to the lists settling back into there normal patterns, but it does raise the issue of whether in the future you all need to be running a generic adddress for you lists mails as well as the one you use everyday, but this is entirely up to you as the listers. I ask that this recent hitch not be discussed on list, as we as admins do not have the answers and you as listers do not need to get involved in admin problems ( take my word for that its a mess back here behind the scenes at the moment) Thankyou all Cara I use BullGuard Spamfilter to keep my inbox clean. I'm on AOL and just realized that rootsweb hasn't been coming in. I wondered how come my email list wasn't moving like it usually does. So far you are the only one back that I'm receiving but I'm on about 15 lists. Have to wait and see if others start coming in. Nice to hear from you in any event. Peggy Large UE "I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead" thanks to Jimmy Buffett!
Bev.W, It's great to get an email from another lister. My next email will be about ancestors. Joan
Hi All, I think that AOL and Rootsweb worked something out because here I am!!! Many thanks Cara!! You are the BEST!!! Regards, Bev W

Hi Patrick Did you check on the 1901 Irish census for him/his family? (or did the whole family emigrate?) www.census.nationalarchives.ie. Or www.churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie? What religion was the family? Do you know if Patrick had siblings and if so, what were their names? What did Patrick senior do for a living? This info will help others to help you. I am letting you know that there is a problem with those who have AOL addresses, I am in fact receiving way above the the normal amount of bounces, which suggests that there is a problem at AOL level, so should you find yourself bounced off the list, simply sort it with a resub, and with AOL as it is not, because of any other problems. It has been reported but, it is the weekend so it may be a wee while to sort it out and you may find yourself, being bounced off the list for no apparent reason Cheers Cara Please dont comment on list as this is an admin problem nothing to do with list. Hi, if you google lds, there's a few Thomas Powers on the familysearch site, also irishgeneology but don't put in any date because even if you're sure of the birth year, he may not have been baptised till much later. Maggie
I'm looking for some clue about my gt. grandfather Thomas Power. On his marriage certificate in Birkenhead May 1861 it seems he was born in Dublin in 1836 and his father was William Power a book-keeper (at that time presumably.) Thomas's census returns till his death in Liverpool in 1886 maintain the birth year as about 1836. How can I find out more, please? Anne Power Manchester. The port of Queenstown (where millions of Irish emigrated from) is the former name for COBH (pronounced COVE), the Port for the City of Cork. Titanic also sailed from Queenstown for New York on her fateful maiden voyage. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NB 2- REMOVE THE BULK OF THE MAIL-NO-ONE WANTS DOWNLOAD ENDLESS DIGEST MAILS OF NO INTEREST TO THEM. -------------------------------------- Today's Topics: 1.
