Dear List, Last year I saw that a group of people in Cork City were going to write the history of Blackpool, Cork City. As my great great grandfather had a Button and Bone Mills in that area, in Spring Lane and Watercourse Road I was willing to tell these people all I knew and perhaps it would go into the book and later I could purchase it. Does anyone know if the book was ever written and published? Chris Hough in New Zealand.
Hi chris and Les, I do not know the latest on the history of Blackpool but you can write to the secretary of the project at the Blackpool Historical Society, Blackpool Community Centre, Great William O Brien Street, Blackpool, Cork Ireland, who will give you the latest news. regards, Frank Nash ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris & Les" <clhough@xtra.co.nz> To: <IRL-CORK-CITY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 21, 2002 9:35 AM Subject: [IRL-CORK-CITY] Bone Mills > Dear List, > Last year I saw that a group of people in Cork City were going to write the history of Blackpool, Cork City. > As my great great grandfather had a Button and Bone Mills > in that area, in Spring Lane and Watercourse Road I was willing to tell these people all I knew and perhaps it would go into the book and later I could purchase it. > Does anyone know if the book was ever written and published? > Chris Hough in New Zealand. > > >
The book about Blackpool has been written. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from a wonderful person who lives in the house which my grandparents lived: William (Billy) & Norah Desmond (nee Barrett). It was a wonderful gift indeed! Growing up, I had heard about almost everything written in the book.
