The following are the words inscribed on a plaque that used to hang in St Peters Church, North Main street, City of Cork. The plaque is now in reasonable condition on the floor leaning up against the wall of that church (The Cork Vision Centre). In loving Memory of the Members of St Peters Church who died in the Great War 1914 - 1918 Captain Henry T.R.S. Wright 2nd Lieut William Butler Corporal Thomas Hargoves Lance-Corporal John G. Waugh Private Cecil Mansfield Rifleman Frederick Deacon
It seems sad to hear that a memorial plaque to these fellows is just left sitting on the floor of the church, do you know if they are going to mount it back on an interior wall? Colman Ahern, Berkeley.
