Joe, Do you have the book called A Guide to Irish Country Houses by Mark Bence-Jones: In there is detailed a number of places called Lota and they are all at Glanmire, Co Cork. 1. Lota (with interior and exterior pictures) built 1765 for Robert Rogers 2. Lota Beg (Picture of the gate only) built ca 1800 Sir Richard Kellett 1st Bart 3. Lota Lodge owned by Sharman-Crawford 4. Lotamore owned ca 1870 by the Perrier family 5. Lota Park built in 1801 by John Power There are a lot more details about each house in this book. I am interested in the Francis Power family that owned Ballea Castle in Carrigaline and intermarried with my Hodders of Fountainstown. Do you know if there is any connection between the Powers of Ballea and the Powers of Lota Park? Also in another branch of my Cork family the Knapps, the eldest son married Ann daughter of John Power of Cork. Now I am wondering if this might have been John Power of Lota Park? I am descended from Edward Knapps' sister Ann who married George Stevelly of Font Hill. So far I have never been able to find Font Hill. I wish it was as easy to find as Lota Park was. Regards, Kae Lewis Edmond Knapp of Lehena m 14 June 1807 at St Finbarr¹s church, Cork to Ann Power, 3rd dau of John Power of Cork. Does anyone have any information relating to Lota Park and Lota House? In particular I am interested in the family of John Power who, I believe, built the existing house(s) there and a Woods family plus a Perrier family who lived there at one time. Cheers Joe Power
