Hi~ I will be in Ireland from the 16 til 28th of this December and am wondering if there is anyplace that one could do research on Cork City relatives, born circa 1825-1835 in Ireland, left for America by 1850s. I know there's some type of "Heritage Center" that is supposed to have Cork County info, but don't know 1) if they have anything you can research yourself or 2) if they'd even have any info from Cork City. These folks were Catholics; I once wrote to St. Finbarrs in Cork City and got back births of cousins of the folks I was interested in; the cousins ended up coming to USA and living with them ( I could match death dates/ages from american cemetery with birthdates from St. Finbarrs)....but I didn't get hte births of *my* guys....(same surname) Does anyone have any advice...?
