I have just been given some information about my Irish ancestors and hope someone can help me. I believe my ggggrandfather was Bartholomew McKeo(u)gh - I always thought the spelling was McHugh, but I know there are many variants in the spelling of Irish surnames. I believe he may have come from the townland of Ballybrack which is in the Civil Parish of Dunbullogue, in the Glanmire region of Cork. Can anyone tell me please if there is a Church in that area? Where might any baptismal, marriage records be kept? Would they be in one of the churches in Cork city? I am not absolutely sure what religion he was. The time frame I am looking at is early 1800's.
