Looking for any information on this family who probably lived in the city of Cork in the 1830s. He seems to have married Eleanor Hegarty, Diocese of Cork and Ross, by license, in a Church of Ireland ceremony in 1829. They had one daughter Mary Rogers McCarthy around 1831 and another Eleanor Winspeare McCarthy around 1838, this one definitely in Cork city, before they moved to Kilshannig Parish outside of Mallow where William had a school in Glantane. I already have the reference to the Cork & Ross Marriage License bonds index (records burned); baptisms of four more daughters in Kilshannig parish; William as a schoolmaster at his school on Griffiths; Mary's 1853 marriage record from Kilshannig to Peter Foley; Eleanor in the county directory, Kinsale, school mistress, 1886; and Eleanor on 1901 and 1911 census in Kinsale. Does anyone have any ideas of Cork city records to check? Elizabeth KnowltonEW@Compuserve.com
