Your main priority here is when he emigrated. If you can pin down a good guess as to the year he came to the US, then you can have an idea of his age as well. From there, you can extrapolate out things like DOB, place etc, then try to confirm those through further research. I'd be going through as many of the shipping logs they have stored at the Library of Congress as I could.....or at your local genealogical society.
