I continue to look for the origins of Philip Crowley, his wife Ellen Dineen, and daughter Hanora who came to Cohoes NY in 1838. Anybody with info or leads?
Hi, Kevin- Did the family stay in Cohoes? Perhaps the church they attended would have some records. If they were RC, they may have attended St. Agnes, St. Patrick's, St. Bernard's, St. Joseph's, St. Michael's, or St. Rita's. St. Agnes, and St. Pat's were combined into Holy Trinity. St. Agnes, and St. Bernard's are two of the oldest. Have you looked for death records? The City of Cohoes can make copies the death certificates -be aware, though, New York State was miserable in their record keeping -the records may say only "born in Ireland". If you are already in Cohoes, I'm preaching to the choir, but if you're not, this stuff may help. Ann
