    3. Hi all, I am new to the list and researching Peter HUNTER born abt 1808 Downpatrick. Peter was the son of Thomas HUNTER who was High Sheriff in Dublin. Sometime around 1825 or maybe a few years later Peter HUNTER, who was a policeman in Cork, married Jane BROWN who run a house of ill repute. The story goes that Jane was the mistress of Capt TOWNSEND, who lived near the City of Cork, and continued to be so during her marriage to Peter HUNTER. She supposedly sold her daughter and another girl to sea captains for vile purposes. Jane was charged with this crime and died in the Dublin jail. The story is suppose to have been in the paper. Would SKS know if I can do lookups in the paper? The story should have been printed in the late 1830's or early 1840's, if I have worked it out correctly. Also is there any way I could look up this Capt Townsend. In 1836 or 1837 Peter Hunter went to Kanturk Co Cork where he was a clerk for the Coach Company he then married Jane Connor and had a daughter in 1839. TIA Maryanne South Australia
