    3. I know I am involved in an impossible task here. You say with just Daly and callagan there are 4 parishes with one mention of Callahan. Where is Callahan mentioned 6 times in Cork. This spelling of Callahan is really the only thing I have to go on. I have been told to not just look at that spelling but then the task to find my ggrandfather becomes really overwhelming. I was always told that he came from Cork. Thanks for any help. The name Callahan -exact spelling- is mentioned 36 times in Ireland and only 6 times in County Cork. However there are 2603 Callaghan in Ireland and 989 in County Cork plus 119 in Cork City. There are other spelling variations including the " O " in front of other spellings. However with just Daly and Callagan there are 4 parishes with one mention each of Callahan with multiple mentions of Daly: Abbeystrowery with 9 Daly's, Kilmeen- East Carbery with 1 mention of Daly, Moviddy with 5 mentions of Daly and St Finbarrs with 9 mentions of Daly. 3. Cathryn, Besides the 4 parishes in the previous email, the other two parishes with Callahan are Arthmowen and Ballyfoyle. The last parish had two mentions of Callahan.
