    3. Many thanks for that info, Dennis. I should have added that my ancestor was press-ganged in 1803 and he is the only BRANSFIELD listed in Nelson's Navy. I have the others on TNA (The National Archive) list you mention, many of whom bear family names and are probably descendants of Edward's brothers. I love this list. Could we perhaps remind people to use capital letters for surnames? I see that most people do but, when scanning emails to see if they contain information relevant to our own research, it takes much longer if capitals are not used. Just a thought.
