Hi! I haven't a clue as to what the GRO is. Can I get B. M. D. certificates from them? Do I need exact month, day and year & townland? If I have info about my ggrandparents Thomas & Johanna Joyce Fihily from the birth of their first child in 1865 and onwards can they tell me where they where born? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kay Fehily Corcoran
May I suggest, Kay, that you start here: http://www.groireland.ie/about_us.htm And if you still have questions come back to us, we're always pleased to help a Newbie. ***** Reply to the LIST ONLY - Please ***** ***** Thanks for your consideration ***** Pádraig Mór, An Sean Gabhar ----- Original Message ----- From: <KaySlainte@aol.com> To: <irl-cork@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, November 03, 2006 7:21 PM Subject: Re: Re Research in Ireland at the GRO > > > Hi! > I haven't a clue as to what the GRO is. Kay is my second cousin, discovered this year, living in Florida. I don't think she's a newbie! We all get memory lapse from time to time! Sheila (Kay's second-cousin from our Irish Roots, in sunny Kent, UK)
Sorry, I assumed anyone who didn't know about the GRO, Dublin and its function just had to be a Newbie. That's so basic to Irish research it defies any other explanation. ***** Reply to the LIST ONLY - Please ***** ***** Thanks for your consideration ***** Pádraig Mór, An Sean Gabhar ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sheila Bransfield" <Sheila.Bransfield@btinternet.com> To: <irl-cork@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 04, 2006 4:34 AM Subject: Re: Re Research in Ireland at the GRO > Kay is my second cousin, discovered this year, living in Florida. > I don't think she's a newbie!
