Does anyone know who Croke Park was named for? My gggrandfather was John Edmondson Croke but when he came to the US he changed his name to John Croke Edmondson to escape conscription. So, the subject, Croke Park, really caught my eye. John was born in Co. Kilkenny, Mooncoin Ireland in 1831.
