Since my last request I have found another piece of the jigsaw Thomas Young Cotter stated he was born Bantry 1805. His father was Richard Cotter and his mother Ellen Young. We thought he was born in 1806 in London where his parents married. The family then lived in Lambeth London . When he was 14 he joined his father as a cadet in the RN.
