HI. I am new to the list and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Robin and I am trying to trace my husband's McAuliffe family in Ireland. Most accounts state that the McAuliffe clan is primarily from County Cork but I know that is not nearly enough information to start looking for them. His great grandfather was Simon McAuliff who settled in the Tivoli/Red Hook Area of New York State. He came from Ireland, I believe in 1850, via the Port of New York. From looking at later census records, I have figured out that he never became a US citizen so those records are not available to find a more specific locale. If anyone on the list is a McAuliff(e) or researching the family, I would be delighted to hear from you.
