Wanting know information on the family of John Forde from County Cork who married Annie Corban in the 1920's before migrating to Australia in the early 1930's. John was an uncle to Martin Forde who also migrated to Australia and Rose who I believe is a Nunn still living in Ireland. John Forde was also the son of John Forde. Regards, Grant Forde, Australia
First thing to do is go to the LDS and check the indexes of marriages starting at 1918-1921 on film #0101264, then, if no joy, try 1922 on # 0101735, or 1923-1926 on 0101736, or 1927-1929 on 0101737. But before you go to the LDS download a list of the PLU's (Reg.Districts) for Co. Cork ( get it at www.seanruad.com) and take it with you as it will help eliminate non-Cork entries of similar names. Next step is to get a copy of the certificate from www.groireland.ie by relaying the Year, the Names, the Page and Volume numbers. The cewrtificate will then show Fordes father's name. At that point you're back to the LDS to check Fordes birth record and his father's marriage, etc. Much work, but that's genealogical research! Hoping that some reader on this or any any List will have the same specific interest in your John Forde - which is a common one in Cork-- can be wishful thinking. Good hunting!
