My search in Leitrim was done by Leitrim Genealogy Centre, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim. I had the name of my ggrandfathers parents and knew that he was from Leitrim. It did cost me but it was well worth every penny. I also wrote to the Leitrim newspaper in Carrick-on-Shannon looking for info from anyone still alive who knew my family. I was really surprised when I received 3 letters from people who remembered my great uncle and his family. None of his family married and they all died in Ireland.
