Belgooly is located in Kilmonoge civil parish, just 3 miles NE of Kinsale town, right where the Stick River turns into the estuarine Belgooly River. Just 5 miles ENE, and immediately north of the village of Minane Bridge, is the townland of Springhill. This would be about 3-1/2 miles S. of Carrigaline town. But there is a second Springhill townland in Co. Cork, in Carrigtohill civil parish, about 5-1/2 miles W of Middleton. And farther westward is Kilcully townland, in Kilcully civil parish. It is located about 3 miles N of central Cork city and also 3 miles east of Blarney town. .............................................................................. ...
