From THE IRISH EMIGRANT :: March 20, 2006 :: Issue No.998 - A group named Friends of the Huguenot Cemetery has been formed in Cork to oppose plans to build a coffee shop and exhibition area on the site of a derelict Huguenot graveyard in Carey's Lane. Local restaurateur John Murphy has applied for planning permission for the site which conservationists say is consecrated ground. Two previous planning applications, in 1989 and 2001, were unsuccessful. The last two remaining headstones disappeared from the site decades ago. http://www.IrishEmigrant.com
