In addition, if your family WAS from the diocese of Cloyne, there were many parishes where records were not kept as far back as 1825. If there is no marriage for David or for Johanna in the general time frame of 1825, chances are it doesn't exist. If you are not sure they were married in the Diocese of Cloyne, that is another story. If you know in what parish David and Johanna raised their family, you might want to keep in mind that couples were married in the bride's parish so they could have been married in a parish that was different from the one where they raised their family. I think I need to do more research. I wanted a Baptism on one of the girls or a marriage record. I have no idea where they were from in Cork. I was hoping since only 2 David Smith's showed up on Griffiths I might get lucky. This is my biggest brick wall. I so wish all of Cork had a heritage centre like Mallow. Thanks for the help.
