Hi I am helping out a friend with her family tree, we are trying to find a birth for a Richard Percy Best b abt 1882, age based on age at marriage, and his twin brother, Walter they were the sons of Thomas Henry Best and Martha Drummond - . According to family stories they were born in County Cork. Are there any sites I could go to and try and find their birth? Sometime during the early 1900s Richard emigrated to New Zealand where he married. Hoping someone may be able to assist. Veronica

Veronica You can search the Irish civil registration index at the LDS site. http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start This will give references for BMD registrations and copies can then be ordered from www.groireland.ie I had a quick look at Count Cork and did not see any birth record for a Richard or Walter Best but there are records for a Thomas Best. You could also try adjoining counties.
