I have followed with discussion on Maguires with interest and thought I would add mine to the mix. I dont know if Denis below had any descendants or if there were any other Maguire children in this family: Charles Maguire, Linen draper near Tuckey’s street who died 1 Feb 1810 South Main street, Cork Married Mrs Maguire who died 5 Jan 1775, Cork Children: 1. Denis Maguire Lieut 6th Regt of Foot d 27 Aug 1798 at Castlebar 2. Helen Maguire who married 7 March 1795 at Holy Trinity Cork City to Dr George Fowler MD. I am a direct descendant of Dr George Fowler and his wife Helen nee Maguire. Helen's father Charles Maguire was a Roman Catholic merchant while Dr George Fowler was a protestant. George and Helen were married at Holy Trinity, Cork City, a protestant church. Their descendants attended both RC and protestant churches to baptise their children so I have had big difficulties tracking them all down. Regards, Kae Lewis

Dear Kae. Unfortunately , we do not have a connection as yet. I truly wish there was!!! Denis is a name that I haven't experienced in the family. My Maguires seem to have agricultural workers and farm tenants in Ireland, and labourers in the coal ,and iron industries once they migrated to Durham after1848. However, as I work back on my Maguires, I will watch for a match with yours.
