Hi Gary For 56 years we were all of the understanding that my mother in law's maiden name was spelled Reardon.  I guess after her father died her mother changed the spelling from Riordan to Reardon for some reason. I have John riordan Riordan b Cork Ireland abt 1828+ and Margaret Carroll b Ireland b abt 1830 -+, son Jeremiah F. One of the things you can focus on that may help is finding John's Naturalization records.
