I hve been searching for my husbands family for 56 years. I so wanted to find out more on his Riordan family before he died, but I didn't. Jeremiah Riordan b abt1800 in Co. Cork married Honora Barrett b abt1810 also of Co. Cork. Their son John was born in1832 according to his death certificate here in the States. He married Margaret Carroll b 1837 both born in Co. Cork and they came to Massachusetts, USA bef 1857 as that is when their son Jeremiah was born here. Any and all help would be appreciated. Dorothy J. Smith New Hampshire, USA
Hi, Dorothy I have a pretty extensive collection of records of Reardon's that have gone through Massachusetts. I'm also the moderator of the Reardon list on Rootsweb. John married Margaret on 11/16/1856 in Boston before moving to Easton to have all their children. John had a brother Jeremiah that married Catherine Welsh on 7/5/1859 in North Bridgewater (now Brockton) and a sister Hannah that died on 3/13/1869 in Easton. Unfortunately I don't have anything more on their parents that you do. It's been quite a while since I compiled this one and I'll take a look at my records for Cork and see if I can make any connections. I primarily focus on NW Cork since that where my family is from. One of the things you can focus on that may help is finding John's Naturalization records.
