    1. Looking for Martin HOOLEY/HOOLY

    3. Hello list, I am trying to find information about my g/g/grandfather Martin HOOLEY. I found this name in Cheshire in 1841 but he was unmarried. My g/grandfather Thomas HOOLEY was born 1836 Ireland and on his marriage certificate in 1857, it showed his fathers name was Martin, who was deceased at that time. I have never found this name on any searches I have done in Ireland. My late father said that the name of Thomas has been carried down for many generations and I thought all his ancestors were named Thomas. His grandfather, father, himself and his son all Thomas. I found a Thomas HOOLEY in the Griffiths Valuation of Ireland 1848-1864. His address is Ballycatteen, Templetrine, Cork. Could some kind person have any ideas of how I can find the birth of my g/grandfather Thomas Hooley b.1836 in Ireland please. Possibly the above address might be his family. Are there any records I could search similar to a census of that time please? Or any bmd's online I can search, pre 1836? This is a brickwall for my family history and I am anxious to complete it for my family. Many thanks, Hoping to hear from some lister, Mary in North Queensland Aus.
