The earliest record I have of my Keefe's is the confirmation of my GG Grandmother at St. Mary's in Newport, Wales in 1846. I am fairly certain that they left Ireland to escape the famine. I am not sure the Keefe's are from County Cork, but many of the Irish in the Wales 1851and 1861 census are from County Cork so I decided to join the list in the hopes of maybe connecting with other Keefe's who went to Wales. The family consists of the following: John Keefe born 1804 Mary Keefe (MN Lynch) born 1804 Hannah Keefe born 1828, married George Lapham in 1847 in Newport Mary A. Keefe born 1835, married Richard Nicholls in 1850 in Cardiff Bridget Keefe born 1836 William Keefe born 1839 Hannah Keefe Lapham and Mary A. Keefe eventually end up in Fall River, MA. I do not know what happened to Bridget and William Keefe. Anyone see a connection?
