    3. Jerry, I have Kerry roots who settled in Essex County. Here is a link to a great old newspaper site and one for tombstones. Black Brook is where some of the Courtney's of Kerry lived, among other places in Essex County. I found these 2 sites to be very helpful. http://news.nnyln.net/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~frgen/index.htm Good Luck, Helen -----Original Message----- From: irl-cork-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:irl-cork-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John Steitz Sent: Monday, November 08, 2010 7:20 PM To: irl-cork@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Irl-Cork] Searching for KIELY, SULLIVAN and McAULIFFE Jerry I have nothing to do with McAuliffe. 3. This were a bunch of iron mines here back in the day. The forests became the fuel as we don't have coal anywhere near here. Charcoal produced from trees trees. Second generation of the forest was for the paper plant in Ausable Forks which closed in 1970's. THose were the main occupations although plenty of farms in support.
