Congrats Chris and welcome. Incidently, wonder which Mahoney you belong to? Must have a chat with you some time. Grandmother was Julia Ann Mahoney. Thanks Andrew for all your hard work trying to keep us all behaving and hope you have a happy future in whatever you plan to do now. Kind regards, Mary in North Queensland Aus. where we canefarmers are going crazy trying to harvest our sugar cane with the most unseasonal rainy weather we have ever seen! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Billinghurst" <andrew@billinghurst.org> To: <iRL-CORK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 07, 2010 4:07 PM Subject: New list admin is Chris Mahoney >I would like to congratulate Chris for passing all the tests required > to take on list adminship. Hi All I see that Andrew has done some brief introductions for me, but it is time for one from myself. I have been on varying Rootsweb mailing lists probably almost as long as I have had internet, and most likley became admin of my first list soon after this. At the moment I have seven others but they are all reasonably quiet. My own interests in Cork comes from two families, BARRY, and MAHONY (was spelt without an e. Exactly where they came from I do not know, but do have names of places in Cork where they have been at some point, hence original reason for me being on the list. Probably enough from for me for now. I think its now time to see some introductions from other people on this list, lets see who we have got here. Thanks Chris IRL-Cork List Admin

Sincere thanks to Andrew, and to Chris for continuing to administer the list! Carolyn
Dear listers. Welcome to new list admin Chris - hope you enjoy 'looking after' us and that we see lots of action on our list. My Cork names are primarily LOANE/LONE from around Bandon and some from Cork city. I have extensive research on these - please see website below; and my O'SHEA/SHEA line which is from Ardgroom on the Beara Peninsula and the Beara list has been useful and interesting as well. Again I am lucky to have most of the information available on that line. My greatest brick wall is the marriage of my gggrandfather William LOANE to Jane ?? about 1833/5. After their marriage they settled at Brinny where the family remained until c1890. I have all other information on William and their children etc. just no marriage as yet. Would love to have another name to add to the research mix. Best wishes to all, Patsy - New Zealand Website: http://www.loanegenealogy.webs.com http://cdkiwi.com
