    1. [Irl-Cork] Michael and Julia (PHELAN) FITZGERALD early 1800's

    3. Hello, Just wanted to remind researchers that our family-friend seems to go back to a couple, Michael and Julia (PHELAN) FITZGERALD, reportedly from County Cork. I'm thinking they might have been born around 1830. They had a son, John, b1858, and a son, Michael, born 1865, in Ireland. In 1878 the 2 brothers came to Massachusetts, and I don't know whether they came over alone or with their parents. The brothers both married in Boston, MA, ~1880. John married Catherine Mary SMITH, and had 2 sons, but they both died during the 1890's. Their teen-age sons had to go live with their aunt and uncle. Michael married Margaret ADAM, and they had 2 children. Our family-friend is descended from John's son, Michael A. FITZGERALD. I wish I could find descendants of this extended family. They initially lived in the Haymarket Square part of Boston which borders on the "North End" part of Boston. The "North End" is where the relatives of "Honey Fitz" FITZGERALD settled during the 1840's. They had come from County Limerick. (I'm told, if there was a connection, it would have been back in the 1600's or 1700's.) Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)
