I hope you are al successful in the coming year breaking down brick walls, and hopefully i will finally have some success in finding my CARMODY family in Kilbrin,Cork area I have been searching for links for 45 years/ As far as I know there was a Patrick Carmody family in Kilbrin related to my great grandfather 'denis carmody b.1825. He made his way to Middlesex England for work approx. 1857 wih wife Johanna (? unknown surname). They had 4 children by 1865,Patrick, Johanna/Annie, JOhn ( my grandfather) and Denis. Only John came to the USA in 1888/9.... I have managed to find the family of Johanna/Annie still in England, the other two men stayed bachelors. John married a Hanora/Nora Mulcahy Sullivan a widow, who came to USA in approx. 1882-4, married John Sullivan, lived somewhere in NYC between E.59St and 70 St. she had 8 children with him by 1900 and she became a widow. in 1900 Nora married ( the above) John CArmody, and had my Father John in 1902. He died in 1966. parents Nora Mulcahy Sullivan Carmody died NYC 1914 & father John Carmody (sr) died 1926. Only 3 of the Sullivan children still alive in 1910 NYC census. Margaret b. 1888, Daniel b. 1892, Patrick b. 1896......Daniel married Alice, Mc Philips 1912 in NYC, he died in 1920's. They had several children, first born Daniel did in 1913. Margaret probably married.. info unknown, Patrick moved upstate NY by 1930s...where unknown. I hold a slim hope of filling in the gaps as to the Sullivan children's families.....and any info as to where in Ireland the original Carmody family was in Cork.(originally came down from Clare)...I have exhausted al links to sites, letters to churches in Klbin-Kanturk area.and in England. Father and grandparents and other direct relatives left no written documentation. Any help able to fill in the gaps would be most gratefully received!!! With a name like Sullivan it's been impossible to match! Thanks to all ahead of time and have a wonderful Happy Christmas and Healthy new year! s
