Re. App for Passport. I don't advise waiting till you come to Ire. to apply for a passport. Just email them explaining that you DO NOT live in this country+ask them to send you the form . tell them you Are entitled to a passport, otherwise they'll bbard you with ?s. The reason I am telling you this is there is a completely different form for non-residents, which you then have to send to your own embassy or the Irish one over there. Good luck. My grandfather's name was James Jones . In 1882 ,James and Alice were living in Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire where their daughter Edith Letitia was born . They weren't to be found in the 1891 /1901 census although Edith was in Glamorganshire in 1891 recorded on the census as a niece to a Sarah and Thomas Jones and in 1901 was back in Aberystwyth working as a maid . I have a suspicion that Alice may have died before 1891.On the 1911 welsh census ,James was with Edith and her family in Cardiganshire . I haven't been able to find any other children born to James and Alice . Once again , many thanks regards, Buddug Hollett ----- Original Message ----- From: <rolfes@comcast.net> To: <irl-cork@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 28, 2010 10:58 PM Subject: Re: Swain and Cousins When I saw the name Alice Cousins I immediately thought Wexford. I have been looking at a possible connection to Alice Cousin born 1875 in Wexford dtr of Thomas Cousins and Alice Qunn married 1863 in Wexford. I have other info if these are the same one. What were the children of this couple named. You did not give gfathers name so I could not search later census. I did a check in the 1901 census (due to naming pattern) for Alice Cousins in Ireland and only 5 came up. 4 were in Wexford. The address Alice was married from in Carmarthen Wales was the same as theirs but no mention of her in the 1881 census although Richard and Mary were there and Mary gave her place of birth as Bristol whilst Richard came from Cork Ireland . I wonder if there's anyone researching Cousins and Swains who've come across a Richard (Swain)and/or Alice(Cousins) amongst their records . I'm hoping that there is a connection between this family and Alice .I know it's a long shot but I'm trying everything . All I have on Alice is that her father was a Thomas and he was a gardener . I found a County Cork townland in the middle of the Kilquane Civil Parish, County Limerick tithes. I thought I would just post it to these lists for those interested in County Cork. Ballylopin is located in the Kilquane Civil Parish, County Cork, East Riding. (Evidentually, this civil parish is divided by county lines). Here are the names I found: Michl Wall Edward Moragh Danl Keeffe Patrick Rea Michl Gleeson David Herlehy John O'Brien Corn's Miller The tithes were enumerated in 1834. If anyone is on any of the County Cork lists, feel free to pass this data on. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento, CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com ====New England Irish Mailing List==== Check out the NE-Irish website: http://www.connorsgenealogy.com/NEIrish/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NEW-ENGLAND-IRISH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Sat, 30 Oct 2010 01:28:53 +0200 From: e-mail kazig <kazig@ntlworld.com> Subject: Off Topic-Irish Passports & Citizenship To: irl-cork@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <AANLkTi=cKP4Z5-X03C8Ev5H7ut5nN_6qqAaKhnV3w-Qx@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hi I have a question for all. I contacted a company that helps get Irish passports & citizenship by a blood line,i told them my Grandmother was born in Cork & also her mother was also born in Cork, they emailed me with an answer of,as you are the great grand child then you don't come into the citizenship category of this....But as i am a grand child this makes me eligible,i did email them back mentioning i am a grandchild but got no answer. How can i find out for sure if i'm entitled to have an Irish passport when they are giving confusing information? I will be visiting Cork in March,so i need to know for sure if i can get this & where do i go to get it? I hope this helps Margaret ----- Original Message ----- From: "e-mail kazig" <kazig@ntlworld.com> To: <irl-cork@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 30, 2010 12:28 AM Subject: Off Topic-Irish Passports & Citizenship I have a question for all.
