Hello, Thank you to the help with my questions. Yesterday I was reminded that researchers have found out that John H. FITZGERALD, b~1858 Ireland, had a brother, Michael F. FITZGERALD, b~1865 Ireland, with him in Boston. In an 1890 directory, both brothers and their wives were living in "Haymarket Square." (Lynn St., Boston) And both were "fish dealers." The 1900 census had Michael married for 20 yrs., and immigrating in 1878. I haven't had a chance to try to find out more about the brother, Michael. But, it means the FITZGERALD siblings we are close to have more what I call "very distant cousins" than they were aware of. I'm just offering this in case it will help someone else with FITZGERALD research. By the way, a researcher has found out that, when John's 2 teen-age sons were orphaned in 1893, they went to live with an aunt's family: Mrs. Mary (SMITH) COSTELLO. So, Catherine Mary (SMITH) FITZGERALD, b~1855 Ireland, had a sister, Mary. And, it looks like the COSTELLO couple only had one child, a daughter, Delia ?, who might not have married. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) (I have access to USA census information through "HeritageQuest" from my local library. These census pages can only be found through an Index, and the COSTELLO family was not in the Index. I only found them when I searched for the teen-age, Michael FITZGERALD. I tried other spellings of COSTELLO and still couldn't find them in the Index.)
