Does anybody know if they are going to put more Old Parish Records online on the www.irishgenealogy.ie website? I know that we mustn't cavil and that it is marvellous to have all the records already put on it, but any word on the rest of the OPRs? Specifically the West Cork records. It's been very quiet lately..... Mary
I am new to this list and would like to know "how old are the Old Parish Records" of which you refer. I have a G Grandfather that left Ireland in 1825 and his future wife left in 1850..they had 5 children in Canada. On his death certificate it states that he was from Cork, Ireland. Where would I even start to search since Cork County is huge!!!! I have just discovered that he also had a brother John who was two years younger and he brought his wife and one son with him. Our records only start here about 1881/1891 and then jump to 1901 and 1911 but I need the info on where he was born to trace him back further. Can anyone help by pointing me in the right direction??? The name I am looking for is O'Callaghan. I am proud of my Irish Roots and want to uncover more. Thanks Rita (O'Callaghan) Offer On 9/19/2010 10:27 AM, marysimpson wrote: > Does anybody know if they are going to put more Old Parish Records > online on the www.irishgenealogy.ie website? > > I know that we mustn't cavil and that it is marvellous to have all the > records already put on it, but any word on the rest of the OPRs? > Specifically the West Cork records. > > It's been very quiet lately..... > > Mary > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IRL-CORK-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
