    3. If you search irishgeneology / the hunt for a townland, you might get some info there on old townlands. Cheers. I can look at a list of townlands and take an educated guess as to where it might be, but there is the possibility that this townland has been absorbed by another townland. The name is spelled as Dromilisheen, Droumlisheen, Droumlishun, and Dromlishan. The following Dunmanway marriage records identify this townland: 2-11-1823: Johanna Mahony m William Buckly (both of Droumlisheen) Peter Mahony and Jeremiah Buckly Michael Mahony m Norry Harrington 8-31-1824: Ellen Mahony; sp Patrick Mahony and Ellen Crowly (Droumlishun) M. FITZGERALD (~1858-1893), show his parents. They were Michael FITZGERALD and Julia PHELAN. John seems to have come to Boston, MA, well before 1880 as he was marrying in Boston in May 1881. Yesterday another researcher found a Michael and Julia FITZGERALD living in Buffalo, NY (US) in the 1880 census. They had 7 children with them, ages 22 to 8, all born in NY. That means they arrived in NY ~1858. We are wondering if this couple was the parents of our John H., b~1858 Ireland. It is possible that the couple arrived in US with an infant, John, and then had another son shortly after arriving. Were the names popular so there could be many couples, named Michael and Julia? We have not yet looked to see when John H. arrived in the US. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) FYI: We have found out that John H. FITZGERALD lived and worked in "Haymarket Square" in Downtown Boston. He was a fish dealer, probably selling from a cart or wagon. It was not the healthiest place to live and work ~1890, and at Age 35 he died of pneumonia. His wife was Catherine Mary (SMITH) FITZGERALD, and she also died in 1893. Her cause of death was "lingering disease of the chest." (possibly TB or cancer, I would guess) ------------------------------ To contact the IRL-CORK list administrator, send an email to IRL-CORK-admin@rootsweb.com.
