I do not know anything except what is below about the Mulcahy's, and have no idea where Bruff is. Denis Mulcahy#1 born 1804- baptized in Boherbue RC church, married Julia Cronin approx, 1834 They had at least these two sons Denis #2 ( 1834) and John ( 1835) there may have been other children. Denis Mulcay #2 and Margaret Ring* married in Kanturk RC church 1854? Denis #2 was a laborer. (he died in Cork city in 1877) Denis #3 b. 1860. They also had Margaret and Nora/Hanora, who was my grandmother b. 1859. Other children born before Denis, Nora and Margaret, (they may have died either at birth or very young, and two of them were named Margaret and Hanora.) The family lived in Watergate and in Bluepool areas of Kanturk. In approx 1884 Denis #3 came to USA. settled in NYC, married a Nora Cronin, had 2 children there and moved to Calif. in 1890, where they had 9 more. They both died in the 1920's in San Francisco. *Margaret Ring Mulcahy (their Mother) came to NY approx 1888 may have stayed with either dtr. Nora who arrived in NYC about 1884, or Denis, maybe both. She died in Ca. in 1890s. Nora/Hanora stayed in NYC , married a John Sullivan had 8 children, was widowed by 1890, only 3 living children by then, She then married John Carmody in 1900/1901. They had only one living son, John, who was my Father. Nora died in 1914, husband John died in 1926, and their son John in 1966. None of them left any documents as to any pertinent information regarding family. The reasons the Denis Mulcahy's are numbered is because there are so many Denis names in family on both sides, it was easier to remember who was who. The John* Carmody who married Nora (Mulcahy/Sullivan) was born in Middlesex, Eng. 1863 to a Denis Carmody #1 and Johanna??? both born in Cork. They had 4 children, Patrick, Annie, John* and Denis #2. Only John left England for the USA in 1889. They had a cousin Patrick Carmody of Kilbrin, Cork who I am trying to find a descendent of , possibly for family info.
