    3. Hi Art, Form A is the one which lists the individuals in a specific household. I presume you had a reason for deciding on Carrignafoy as the place to search in Queenstown(Cobh). From the LDS list of District Electoral Divisions Carrignafoy is listed in a number of cases as follows 1911 Queenstown Rural No. 1 D.E.D. 104/5-21 Townlands: Ashgrove, Ballybrassil, Ballydaniel Beg, Ballydaniel More, Ballydulea, Ballyellane, Ballymore, Ballynatra, Ballywilliam, Belgrove, Carrignafoy, Currabally, Cuskinny, Fanick, Rossleague, Walterstown, Cork Harbour FHL BRITISH Film 2046786 1911 Queenstown Urban No. 1 D.E.D. 105/1 Carrignafoy Town FHL BRITISH Film 2046786 1911 Queenstown Urban No. 1 D.E.D. 105/2-10 Queenstown (Carrignafoy Town): Cottrell's Row Lower, Cottrell's Row Middle, East Hill, Queen Street, The Mall, Albert Terrace, Athenian Terrace, Brighton Avenue, Fort Lisle FHL BRITISH Film 2046787 1911 Queenstown Urban No. 1 D.E.D. 105/11-19 Queenstown ( Carrignafoy Town): Harbour Terrace, Hill View Terrace, Meehan's Terrace, St. Maur's Terrace, Summer Hill Terrace, Sea View Terrace, Wilmount Terrace, Burke's Glen, Cottrell's Row Upper FHL BRITISH Film 2046788 1911 Queenstown Urban No. 2 D.E.D. 106/15-25 Townlands: Ballydulea, Ballywilliam, Carrignafoy, Kilgarvan, Tiknock, Haulbowline Island, Rat or Coney Island, Rocky Island, Spike Island, Cork Harbour FHL BRITISH Film 2046789 If you go to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp you will get the addresses in Ontario of Family History Centres where you can order these films. 3. Hi Art, Why bother with the expense of going to Dublin, or hiring a reseacher (see list of availability at www.nli.ie.) when the local LDS Family History Centre to you has the 1901 and 1911 Censuses on film. Mind you one needs to know the DED ( District Electoral District) name of the specific place you wish to search, but you seem to have that info. Btw, don't conclude that because she viewed the Titanic on its outward journey from the hill overlooking the harbour that she lived in Cobh. Hundreds of people went there from several counties to see the ship that day. Of general interest is which governement dept. in Dublindid you contact previously, and how much did it cost you? 3. Hello Art - I think what you have are the covering sheets which seem to accompany the household census forms. I have some from Roscommon and Galway which have another sheet with all the household detailed. If these exist then you certainly should be able to obtain them from the Dublin office. Regards, Patsy - New Zealand. > Hi: Badly in need of local knowledge. > I am tracing a SILLETT family and I have a record of them in > Clonakilty in the 1901 census. > After that, they moved to Cobh but I have no certain knowledge of > exactly when. 1. O'Holleran from County Cork to Canada
    2. Dear List, My great-great-grandmother, Margaret M. O'Holleran (name from my great-grandmother's death certificate in Detroit, Michigan) was born in County Cork according to two of her daughters. I realize the name can be spelled many ways. Margaret was born c. 1826. She seems to have married a soldier named William CARR (born c. 1808), prior to 1844, their first child was born in Newfoundland that year. William was born in Northumberland, and was a Protestant. Margaret and all the nine children were Catholic. The family later moved to London, Ontario and later to Sarnia, Ontario. William had a pension from the army by then and was a night watchman at the railroad in London, Ontario. All his sons and daughters were connected with the railroad. 3. Hi: Badly in need of local knowledge. I am tracing a SILLETT family and I have a record of them in Clonakilty in the 1901 census. After that, they moved to Cobh but I have no certain knowledge of exactly when. Stories passed down indicate that my wife's mother watched the "Titanic" from "the cliffs", which would put the family in Cobh in 1912 and with a good chance of appearing on the 1911 Census (I know, it's a bit of a guess). Not fully understanding the area, or the census, I sent to Dublin for the census of townland of Carrignafoy, Electoral district Queenstown No. 2, Barony of Barrymore, Parish of Templerobin. Received back a Form B (House & Building Return) and a Form N (Enumerators Abstract for a Townland). Only the head of family and landholder seem to be recorded in each of 12 houses on Form B, and Form N seems mostly about religious profession. No sign of the Sillett name, leaving me with the feeling that I don't know what I'm doing ! My question: Is it possible to go to Dublin and do a physical search of the 1911 Census for Cobh ? If such a search was successful, would there be a form which would show the complete household together with names, ages, occupations etc., similar to what I have for 1901 ? Would appreciate any help in understanding what is available. Art Pearse in Ontario

    3. First thing to do is go to the LDS and check the indexes of marriages starting at 1918-1921 on film #0101264, then, if no joy, try 1922 on # 0101735, or 1923-1926 on 0101736, or 1927-1929 on 0101737. But before you go to the LDS download a list of the PLU's (Reg.Districts) for Co. Cork ( get it at www.seanruad.com) and take it with you as it will help eliminate non-Cork entries of similar names. Next step is to get a copy of the certificate from www.groireland.ie by relaying the Year, the Names, the Page and Volume numbers. The cewrtificate will then show Fordes father's name. At that point you're back to the LDS to check Fordes birth record and his father's marriage, etc. Much work, but that's genealogical research! Hoping that some reader on this or any any List will have the same specific interest in your John Forde - which is a common one in Cork-- can be wishful thinking. Good hunting! 1. Jeremiah Sullivan (b. 20 Jan 1829) & brother Patrick (b. Abt 1830)
    2. MARY THOMAS
    3. Hi, I'm new to the list so forgive any gaffs. I'm seeking information on the parents and ancestry of the brothers in the subject line. Both were born in County Cork but where in the county is not listed on the census reports. Their parents were Patrick O'Sullivan and Margaret O'Brien and that's the extent of my knowledge as far as those two go. Jeremiah was in West Newbury/Newburyport, Massachusetts by 19 Nov 1854 as that was when he married Margaret Warren d/o Daniel Warren and Mary ?. She was born Abt. 1830 in County Kerry....again...where in the county I don't know. Jeremiah died in West Newbury 10 Jun 1882. Patrick was in West Newbury/Newburyport by 27 Oct 1855 which is when he married Hannah (Hannora) Wallace d/o William Wallace and Hannah ?. She was born abt 1835 supposedly in Cork. Patrick died between 1860-1870. He may have died in Vermont where his fourth child was born or he could have died in Michigan. For all I know, he died in Canada. Anyway, by 1870, Hannah was settled in Detroit, Wayne County, MI with her four children: William, Patrick Henry, Margaret, and Jeremiah. If anyone has any information on this family before its arrival in the US or information on Patrick's death, I'd love to here from you. Stay well, stay safe, and may you always have enough, Chris

    3. Hi, I'm new to the list so please forgive any gaffs. I'm searching for information on the above couple. All I have so far is their names and county of origin both taken from the marriage records of Patrick and Jeremiah Sullivan. Jeremiah was born in Cork on 20 Jan 1829 and died in West Newbury Massachusetts on 10 Jun 1882. On 19 Nov 1854 in Newburyport MA, he married Mary/Margaret Warren d/o of Daniel Warren and his wife Mary. She was born in County Kerry Abt. 1830 and died in West Newbury on 06 Mar 1904. Patrick was born in Cork Abt. 1830 and died in the States sometime between 1860 and 1870. On 27 Oct 1855 in Newburyport he married Hannah Wallace d/o William Wallace and his wife Hannah. She was born supposedly in Cork Abt. 1835 and died in Detroit Michigan sometime between 1892 and 1900. Any help with the parents of these two brothers and any siblings would be greatly appreciated.
