I will locate them in a day or so and post them. There is an amount of family detail in a book by a lady whose name I think is Walsh. I will try to find it. The book does not come up on a Google search. The cup you mention is the All Ireland Senior (Gaelic) Football Championship. It is the highest honour in Gaelic Football. This is not soccer. It is played for in Croke Park, Dublin in September each year at the end of a very keenly contested knock out competition. http://dunmanway.pighaswings.com/page/sam_maguire/ My maternal grandfather was from Ardfield. 3. Hi Rob - can't answer your question on Sam's parentage but the Sam Maguire cup is played for in Gaelic football, which is not SOCCER at all!! It seems to the outsider to be a wonderfully anarchic sport and is fiercely contested each year by the various County teams - super stuff. The country is decorated with County flags entirely and cars dash everywhere also sporting their County flags. It's great fun to be there at the time even when you have no idea at all of the intricacies of the game itself - let alone the scoring system!! All the best with your search. I am especially want to find some accurate dates, such as Julia Quin's birth date and place, along with her marriage date . I haven't found her husband's name, birth date or place. I would like to confirm birth info on the daughters Mary A and Julia Ann. I am getting so confused on names and am not sure how to locate Irish birth and marriage info. If possible, I would like to find out Hugh and Margaret's marriage date and place. I hope someone could help or guide me. Any assistance and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I thank you in advance. Best Regards, Rob Canada

    3. Be advised that the Missing Friends ads database at the O'Neill Library at Boston College is a work in progress. Last time I looked there was no indication on the site as to what years have been done. So, if you do not find the person you are looking for, you might want to check either the hardbound volumes available in some Libraries or the CDROM version. -dja

Interestingly, the auctioneer / estate agent / realtor's spiel has not significantly changed down the ages!! Even then they made out that you would be purchasing a real " des res "..... 2. Hi Rose, Charles Anthony was born 1856, his father Richard must have been born c 1830. There is no death record for him 1864 on, he must have died late twenties, early thirties. I have picked up a Richard Chambers aged 26, born Dunmanway arriving in New York March 1911 he was visiting his cousin C J Chambers in "Winthsop" ? New York Lawrence County is typed in after, may be related? Brendan ----- "Roselma Roberts" <[email protected]> wrote: > Thanks Bill Fahy for your research. 3. Rose and Brendan I just caught your post in passing. the county would be St Lawrence County based on the info. The county records are in Canton, NY. This also would imply they came in via the St Lawrence River which potentially opens another can of worms.
