Hi! I don't think its fair to say to beware of Bob's site - it is a plain freepages website at Rootsweb.com. Rootsweb was bought out/taken over (not sure of the correct terminology) by Ancestry.com and since then, has been forcing ads top and bottom as well as other subtle changes. At least they're not charging us for the webspace. Rootsweb freepages provide unlimited webspace for genealogy based sites and is where many sites are based, including the larger Donegal resources sites - Carol Queens site and mine. We don't have any control over the 'bugs' or pop-unders/ups, but the later should be able to be turned off from within your browser. Please don't avoid this website - I know Bob has put alot of work over a couple of years into his data, presented for anyone to access for free.
