Hi Lorraine, it is great to hear from you. I guess I have come to a full stop now, I know that Hugh McCole's father was a character nicknamed fair haired Charlie (Charles McCole). I believe he married a Sile pronounced Seely Duffy- this could have been where the Cecelia came in for Hugh and Madgy's youngest daughter, she ended up marrying a Ned Donaghan/Donaghey. Hugh shared the farming duties on his lot with a Bridget McBride, now I am only assuming this could have been his married sister. There were two generations of Hugh McColes, the first marrying Madgy Boyle circa 1859 and the second (perhaps a nephew, marrying a Bridget McBride). Hugh appears to have inherited the lot he farmed Owned by Lord George Hill from a Duffy, this gives me more evidence that perhaps this was Sile Duffy's father. Of interest also is that there was also a lass called Fanny Duigan/Dugan/Duggan, who also travelled to Australia, she married Andrew Whitton, but the McCole girls used her as witness to their weddings, and brough properties in the same street as her. Fanny McCole's infant daughter was buried in a tomb adjoining Fanny Whitton/Duggan. Also Bridget McCool/McCole sponsored Susan Gallagher out to Australia, so there was definitely some close connection between the Duffy's, Duggans, McBrides and McCole/McCoal/Mccools. Wouldnt it be so wonderful if we could establish some sort of connection. So good to hear from you.
