    3. Dorthy, Yes, He should be included in the census but you will need to know which R.I.C. barracks he was stationed at. My wife's ggrandfather was stationed in at least three different barracks in Donegal, if birth locations testify to where he was stationed. His first three children (1867, 1868, 1869) were born in Coleraine, Derry where he met and married his wife. She either returned to her parents for the birth or did not accompany him to "the wilds of Donegal". Their subsequent children (1871 and after) were born in Reporting Districts, Milford, Letterkenny, and Strabane. A URL showing a Co. Meath, R.I.C. barracks listing is at: http://www.angelfire.com/ak2/ashbourne/townlands2.html It is of interest as the constable's names were only initials as shown below: Rath R.I.C. 494 Rath R.I.C. Barracks 1 1 J H sergeant RC R+W 39 male farmer's son married Tipperary 495 Rath R.I.C. Barracks 2 2 J P constable RC R+W 32 male farmer's son not married Sligo 496 Rath R.I.C. Good hunting! Ernie -------------------------------------- > Subject: [DONEGAL] 1901 census > Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2003 18:35:40 -0000 > > My Grandfather, JOHN ARMSTRONG, was in the R.I.C. stationed in Donegal from October 1891 to November 1903. Would he have been included in the census at the Police Station where he was stationed.
