Maria McHallam (marriage cert. spelling) born c.1845-46. Parents Daniel and Elizabeth (nee Campbell) appear in 1850 U.S. Census under the spelling McHallen residing in Roxbury. Daniel's occupation listed as carpenter. Maria not listed in census and apparently is still in Ireland. Another sister Catherine also apparently still in Ireland. Both came after 1850. One daughter Elizabeth listed in Census with parents. Children born in U.S. include David, Daniel. Spelling of surname uncertain at emigration. Varients are McHallen, McAllan, McCallen. Name was corrupted by 1864 and spelled McHallam on gravestone in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Boston.
