    3. I would like to add my experience to this discussion. During my Trip to Ireland October 1997 I visited Heritage Centre, supplied information, paid 150 Punt, which was $300 Aust Dollars. SIX months later I received the same type of Letter. Pages of info re Clan McMahon then on the last page a paragraph to to tell me of the info I had given them and that nothing more could be found as they dont have That Register. A check of their Holdings could have told me that in October. Plus I might add there was NO refund or part of. Spoke to the Locals and was told they received similar complaints over the years. So it looks as if nothing has changed. I am looking for Daniel McMahon, Father of Martin, John and Michael around the 1829 plus period, may have been near Sixmilebridge. Enjoying the List, keep up the good work Best Wishes Wilma in OZ

    3. Hi All, Tonight our group just had a speaker come in to talk about hiring a researcher. Her big thing was that a contract should be made up. Laying out everything and then if they can't do thier job then you have the contract to fall back on. Also that if they have letters behind thier name then they should have a board of ethics to which they report and if you have a complaint then you can take it to them. Enough complaints then they would have their certification pulled. Going for certification is not always a Cracker Jack type education, not if offered by the right place. I am going to beginning mine here in Canada , it is not expensive but I wouldn't want to go through all the work to have mine pulled because I just took someone's money and didn't have anything to show for it. I have heard of other stories like this one in different places.
