This is probably a virus. Delete it or if you are really very daring right click on the attachment and save it to your disc on a particular folder you note. Then right click on the saved file and interrogate it with your Norton virus checker. 99.99% of the time it is best to delete the thing in the first place Liam "A bird in the bush is worth two in the Cat" ----- Original Message ----- From: "BETH BRADLEY" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 05, 2004 12:53 PM Subject: [DONEGAL] Viruses > Hi Folks, > > Lookingfor a little help and advice - I have Norton running all the time and updayed weekly. In the past few days I have had three messages from http://www.co.uk the wording as follows:- > 1&2. "Some of our clients complained about the spam outgoing from your e-mail account. Probably, you have been infected by a proxy -relay trojan server. In order to keep your computer safe, follow the instructions." and there is an attachment. > 3. "Your e-mail account will be disabled because of improper using in next three days. If you are still wishing to use it please resign your account information." there is also an attachment. > In all cases the message tells me to get details from the attached file but I am wary of the attachment in case it is a virus. Can anybody tell me what to do, I tried replying but the e-mail was returned as it said the first message was created automatically, I don't want my account disabled and I don't want to open the attachment for fear of it being a virus. > I ran Norton last night and it didn't find any viruses. > Beth > > > ==== IRL-CO-DONEGAL Mailing List ==== > Our County Donegal website is: http://www.mindspring.com/~dickod1/donegal/index.htm > If you have genealogy data for Donegal, please submit to URL above. > > ============================== > Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration > Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial.
