    3. Paul, What area and who are you looking for??? Someone will jump on the request or at least advise you as to where to look. Listed below are four (4) groups that you can post to, Y-IRL is probably the best list for Ireland (in my opinion) overall great members who are always willing to help. The three Donegal groups are the best that I know of, most members belong to all three so if you post to any most will pick it up. Can't help with NIRL Lists, maybe someone else will suggest a good site. There are also many very good Message Boards at Rootsweb that you post to. There are no census data records available for Ireland 1871 and 1881 they were destroyed , (there is data for Scotland, England, Wales) on the net. The 1901 Ireland Census is available from the FHC, visit the FHC in your area for help or you can ask a researcher to look up the info, Jane's site has a reference section regarding this approach. Many list members have sites on the Web that list partial 1901 data for many areas in Ireland, the following are some of the ones I am familiar with, there are hundreds more if you Google the Web. Had a couple of other Donegal sites but their web links have collapsed for some reason. This is the best I can do for now, hope it gives you a starting point. Bob Cdn. ----------------------------------------- My site has the area around Mount Charles, Donegal: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hiflyte/ <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/%7Ehiflyte/> Lindel's site has data for a number of areas in Donegal: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~donegal/ <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/%7Edonegal/> Jane's site has data for most of Ireland not sure about census data but bundles on Ireland records and a great source of information:. http://www.from-ireland.net/index.htm Carole's site: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~donegaleire/ <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/%7Edonegaleire/> Irish Census Records: (Don't know much about this site) http://www.censusfinder.com/ireland.htm <http://www.censusfinder.com/ireland.htm> Would suggest you post to: (Note you will have to sign up for some, but they are all free) [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Rootsweb Message Boards: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/script/main/rw Here are a few NIRL sites to visit: http://www.proni.gov.uk/ http://www.ulsterancestry.com/ua-free-pages.php http://www.proni.gov.uk/geogindx/counties.htm http://www.irishroots.net/Derry.htm http://www.groni.gov.uk/index.htm http://www.historyfromheadstones.com/index.php?home http://www.lmi.utvinternet.com/index.htm http://www.lurganancestry.net/introduction.asp ============================== <SNIP> Paul wrote: >Hi Bob >Do you know of any other sites that might be a bit more used covering >the Derry and Donegal areas, I have posted messages on rootsweb with no >joy.
