    1. Re: [IRL-CO-DONEGAL] Question on 1878 marriage in Monreagh, County Donegal
    2. Joe, == I have a copy of a marriage cert. between Andrew HUNTER and Rebecca LONG at Monreagh Presbyterian Church on 11/14/1878. Andrew's residence is listed as Haugh, Rebecca's appears to be "Inlick", as best I can tell. == Firstly, I suspect that the Haugh location is actually Haw. There is a Haugh townland in Co. Donegal, but it is located about a mile north of Donegal town, and nowhere near Monreagh. The townland of Haw is where the village of Church Town is located, and Monreagh townland is immediately east of Haw with nearly a mile-long common border between them. The Monreagh Presbyterian church is actually in Tonagh townland - the next townland to the east. I suspect that "Inlick" is actually the townland of Imlick, which is also nearby.......just a mile or a mile and a half to the NE of Monreagh townland and the Presbyterian Congregation. So, all of these places are within 2 miles of each other, at most. If you have any other questions on the geography of these townlands, drop me a line. == Also, would the Monreagh Church be the place to write for records on this family? == I don't do any genealogy, so I'll have to leave that response to other listers.
