I too am interested in the questions you have asked. Is there any books covering Kilmacrenan during this time period? I have been looking for information regarding my Dever family for years. James Dever who was married to Sarah Cheatley in Kilmacrenan came to Canada in 1862. I have often wondered what prompted their leaving. Was the worst of the famine over by then? I have read some books about the famine but none have that have covered Kilmacrenan.
