Hi Janice, I can't confirm any of them as him. He may or may not have emigrated by that time. * In Moville, growing up, he would have worked as a farmer or laborer and I do not know him to have been skilled in a specific trade (like plastering, varnishing or finishing). * According to my late great aunt, his daughter, when he first came over he was in the employ of 'some Moore cousins in Chestnut Hill who had an estate and distillery' or something like that, but I have yet to determine which Moore family/business that was. This Moore family may or may not have been the parents of James' cousin, Father Thomas Moore, who married my ggrandfather 1898 at St. Edward's, 8th & York. Further research with the Philadelphia Archdiocese might help me with that lead, but I haven't had the time to follow it up. * By 1900, was working as a leather worker ('moroco fien' or something like that showed up in some records). All his verified home addresses in the U.S. (ca. 1895-1927) (including a Bodine Street and a Diamond Street address) were in the Kensington/Fishtown section of Philadelphia, the leather factory was I think 8th & Vine or 2nd & Vine. I think he shows up at some of the known addresses Kensington in some of the later Philadelphia City Directories, but without going and digging out a few boxes I have no business rooting around in today, that's all the detail I can remember for now. I'm still looking for the emigration of my ggrandfather James Feeney (born ca. 1860 in Co. Derry, grew up in Drumaweer, Moville, Co. Donegal, emigrated to and died in Philadelphia, PA, USA). Family legend has it he emigrated with his cousin, a (John) McShane. Most probable dates of his emigration based on family stories, events and census records are 1880-1895. So if you find a shiplist J. Feeney with any McShane (both from Donegal or Derry) I'd be very grateful to know. There were also Moores in this family who were from Co. Derry, most likely in the vicinity of Limavady-Feeny-Claudy. If it turns out Marilyn has a Derry connection after all, we may be working on the same puzzle there, but I don't have anything for her at this time.
