Have you checked this ship list _http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~donegal/abyssinian.htm_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~donegal/abyssinian.htm) , also this site is for searching arrivals after 1860: _http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/indexes/searchform.aspx?id=5_ (http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/indexes/searchform.aspx?id=5) I would also look at Derry "During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the port of Derry became an important embarkation point for Irish emigrants setting out for America" _http://www.geographia.com/northern-ireland/ukider01.htm_ (http://www.geographia.com/northern-ireland/ukider01.htm) I don't know of any archives on line though. And I think the ships left from an island right off Londonderry but I can't remember the name. And Liverpool embarkation port was the biggest for the area I think. Shipping companies would often include the transport from Ireland to Liverpool in their tickets. The port of Ballyshannon had some transportatiohttp://www.geocities.com/grace280.geo/ballyshannon.htmln but after a series of accidents in the 1870's it became unpopular as a port for larger ships. It did have some Gallaghers listed in this article about it. I have a few other bits I would be happy to send you privately if you would like but let me know you want me to send them directly to you before I do.
